1. Everybody's Fine (2009)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: With a little too much schmaltz and a contrived story, Everybody’s Fine never excels as a movie. However, it does deliver a decent emotional impact, and it also boasts a strong lead turn from Robert De Niro that helps carry it over rocky patches. The DVD provides good picture, decent audio, and a smattering of interesting supplements. I can’t say I reall

2. Cop Land: Miramax Collector's Series (1997)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Somewhat overwrought but generally compelling, Cop Land enjoys an excellent cast and an intriguing concept. It plods at times and goes off onto too many diversions, the movie nonetheless comes across as mostly engaging and well made. Starring Sylvester Stallone, Robert De Niro. Miramax, $19.99, 6/1/2004.

It plods at times and goes off onto too many diversions, the movie nonetheless comes across as mostly engaging and well made. 4. Raging Bull [Blu-Ray] (1980)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: As a film, Raging Bull remains an admirable enigma to me. I respect the movie and like parts of it, but I’ve never been able to truly embrace it. Still, it’s a very well-made affair that deserves special attention for Robert De Niro’s terrific performance. The Blu-ray itself provides generally good – though somewhat dirty – picture along with pretty posi

5. Raging Bull: Special Edition (1980)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Despite my lack of real affection for Raging Bull, I recognize its strengths and recommend it. Should folks who own the prior DVD upgrade to this new one? Definitely. Not only does it improve on the original’s picture and sound, but also it adds a terrific collection of supplements. The new Raging Bull is a stellar release that finally does justice to th

6. Shark Tale (2004)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Although I wasn’t wild about Shark Tale, it came as a pleasant surprise. Perhaps that’s because I had low expectations for the flick, but I still enjoyed it most of the time despite a mix of flaws ... Shark Tale isn’t a classic, but it’s a fun diversion, and I recommend this DVD. Starring Will Smith, Robert De Niro. Dreamworks, $29.99, 2/8/2005.

7. The Good Shepherd (2006)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Shepherd ends up as a long-winded bore. It wears its political heart too much on its sleeve as it alludes to current abuses of intelligence, but even those elements can’t generate any heat. Instead, the film feels like it treads water the whole time. The tale moves but goes nowhere. Starring Matt Damon, Angelina Jolie. Universal, $29.98, 4/3/2007.

8. Analyze That (2002)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: The sequel came across as a pointless exercise in filmmaking that provides almost no laughs and barely musters a recognizable plot.

9. The Untouchables [Blu-Ray] (1987)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: The Untouchables doesn’t always fire on all cylinders, but it provides a generally exciting and well-executed affair. The Blu-ray provides generally good picture, audio and bonus materials, though the visuals lack the “film-like” appearance I’d expect. Still, this is the best version of the film I’ve seen on home video, even if it could/should be better.

10. The Untouchables: Special Collector's Edition (1987)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: The Untouchables makes for a solid DVD. The movie itself doesn’t always fire on all cylinders, but it provides a generally exciting and well-executed affair ... For those who don’t own the prior DVD, I definitely recommend this version of The Untouchables. It’s an effective flick and a good DVD. However, those who do already have the prior release will p
